In my defense, I thought I would get away with it!

When Vaughn Coburn agrees to defend his cousin, Eddy, he's not just trying to prove that the railroad engineer is innocent of intentionally derailing an Amtrak passenger train. He's also taking on the press, the NTSB, a mobster, and the two most powerful Personal Injury (P.I.) attorney's on the eastern seaboard who all want Eddy to pay dearly for the crime.

What I liked:

The story moves fast! Not often do I find a book that has me saying "just one more chapter before bed." The characters are well-developed, especially the bad guys. I love a good conspiracy and legal thriller, and "An Engineered Injustice" did not disappoint.

What I didn't like:

SPOILER: I had to suspend my disbelief that a powerful attorney would have incriminating evidence in his unlocked office desk. His hubris became his downfall, and you'd think the first rule of a conspiracy would be: Don't keep any evidence.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading "An Engineered Injustice" and have already added Mr. Myers' other book (A Criminal Defense: Philadelphia Legal #1) to my "Want To Read" list. I highly recommend this page-turner to anyone who enjoys a good legal thriller along the lines of John Grisham.

I wish the author all the well-deserved success this book will undoubtedly produce.
